ECO Congregation
ECO Congregation is an ecumenical programme which is helping the members of St. Mary’s Church to make the link between environmental issues and Christian faith. We have responded through practical actions in our church, our homes and within the local and global community.

For approximately twelve months up to Feb 2010, St. Mary's worked towards achieving ECO Congregation status. For further information, please contact the ECO Congregation Team via the Contacts page.
See also the ECO Links section on the Useful Links page for handy links to other ECO related websites.
The following is our ECO Code which was developed through consultation with the worshipping community. Please click on the document shown below to see a larger version (PDF - 54Kb).

ECO Congregation status for the parish of St. Mary’s has been awarded !! After a visit from two ECO Congregation assessors on Sunday 4 March we have been successful in achieving ECO Congregation status for the parish of St. Mary’s. The assessors looked at the way the church manages its finance, buildings and churchyard in a sustainable and ethical way, whilst supporting and encouraging people in their growing awareness of the effect of lifestyle choices. Many thanks to everyone in Kempsey who has sustained this work in the village. Not only through their efforts in reusing and recycling but in our work with families, children and young people and in our mission to support others in our local and global community.
