Lenten Study Group - The Lamb of God Starting on Wednesday 29th February, there will be a series of 5 Study Groups, in St. Mary's House, between 7:30pm and 8:30pm. The final topics have not yet been chosen, but we will let you know via the weekly news sheet. It would be good to have a good number of people to join us for these informal sessions. It is an opportunity to grow together in our faith and to get to know one another better as a church family, and learn from each others experience of life. It is particularly important during this period of waiting for a new vicar to lead us. The Ministry team have been very encouraged in recent weeks, by positive feedback about the quality of all our services since Peter left, and our aim is to continue to build the faith of our congregation. |

Lent Lunches at The Firs Ash Wednesday 22nd February sees the start of our annual Lent Lunches at The Firs. This is for 6 weeks and ends on March 28th. We start serving at 12-30 pm up until 1.00 pm and aim to finish around 2-00 pm. Everyone is most welcome to come along to the Firs for a delicious lunch of home made soup, followed by cheese and biscuits with coffee or tea. The money collected will assist Christians in other lands that are persecuted for their faith. It also a lovely opportunity to meet friends over a meal. Do come and join us. |

Women's Institute Meets on the 3rd Wednedsay in the month. Our January meeting was well attended and it was nice to go into a warm hall. Julie, our President, welcomed Pat Davis back after her spell in hospital, and we were pleased she was looking so well. Julie also told us of a number of things planned for the year, one of which is the Funday Sunday to commemorate the Olympic Games. Our outing this year will be to Blist Hill, but more of this later; there are one or two things planned for local interest too, including a visit to the chained library at the cathedral. Our speaker this month was Tony Breedon who brought his Showtime programme. Tony talked about the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein who wrote the music and lyrics to Oaklahoma, Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Oliver etc. and we all enjoyed singing songs from these shows. A very enjoyable evening. The competition for an old programme was won by Cicely Barnes and tea and delicious cakes were served by Deanna and helpers. |

Coming Together Meeting Coming Together meet on the 2nd Monday of the every month at St. Mary's House, Squires Close from 10:30am to 1:00pm. This is an ecumenical meeting and we enjoy a chat and a coffee at 10:30 going on at 11:00 with a time of worship and bible study with a different speaker each month. This month's speaker is Rev. Gordon Hill. A reminder of times: 10:30 – 11:00 Coffee etc. 11:00 – 12:00 Worship and Bible study 12:00 onwards – snack lunch. St. Mary's Church Mens Group The Men's Group meets every first Monday of the month from October to April at 7:30pm in St. Mary's House. A Talk by a West Mercia Police Forensic team member.
